Open to senior product design roles

Hi, I'm Nooshin Boroomand

About me

The experiences behind my design decisions

Nooshin Boroomand

I design enterprise and AI-powered products that solve real user problems.

I work end to end — from real customer pain points through flows, design systems, and accessible production UI. At Visa that meant enterprise payments, developer tools, and for the last two years, conversational AI: figuring out what an assistant should do when a user's request is ambiguous, what it should never do on its own, and how someone recovers when it gets something wrong.

Before design, I spent three years in banking — at Chase and Citi, guiding customers through online banking, resolving account and transaction issues, and following up on fraud cases. It is the same domain I design payments products for today, and it is still where my instinct for what confuses people comes from.

I'm based in Austin, Texas, and I'm looking for senior product design work on complex systems — ideally where AI is part of the product rather than decoration on it.

Design

Design systems and component libraries, conversational and AI interface design, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), responsive and interaction design, prototyping, design QA.

Research

Competitive analysis, usability testing, user interviews, journey and empathy mapping, heuristic evaluation.

Tools

Figma including AI features and Figma Make, Shadcn, Claude and ChatGPT for research, ideation and design testing, Jira.

01 / AI Assistant

Leo — an AI assistant in the payments portal

Sole designer on an AI assistant for Visa's Business Center, working directly with the product director. Seven prototyped use cases, built on one rule: the assistant finds and assembles, but a person approves anything that changes state.

02 / AI Assistant

Developer AI assistant

A chat assistant for developers in two form factors, built on documentation nobody owned the accuracy of. Guest-to-authenticated sign-in inside the conversation, two terms-of-use paths, a dark mode derived from a light-only palette, and two brand skins.

03 / Design system

A 52-component design system, rebuilt to AA

Rebuilt CyberSource's component library to WCAG 2.1 AA and full responsiveness on a 15-person program — authoring most of the components, a full color-contrast matrix, and the redlines engineering implemented from.

04 / Identity & access

User management, sign-in and approvals

13+ flows owned end to end over 18 months with one product owner. Sign-in cut from three fields to two with passkeys, verified profile changes, roles and permissions, and maker–checker approvals for anything sensitive.

  • Proofs of concept

Generative-AI merchant onboarding, replacing a fragmented multi-step signup with one guided conversation; model-score explainability for a risk dashboard; and an internal engineering tool with an embedded feedback loop.

Earlier case studies

Self-directed projects from the Thinkful UX/UI immersion

2021–2022

Solo double-diamond projects — research through high-fidelity prototypes. Kept because they show a full process end to end, which confidential work cannot. The write-ups are the originals, in the site design I built at the time.

Three phone screens from the HiBus app: a welcome screen, a map with nearby stations, and a live schedule listing arrival times and delays.

HiBus

Bus tracking and schedules — research, journey mapping, and a high-fidelity prototype.

Credeals

A credit-card recommender built around comparison and reward clarity.

Tripland

Trip planning — competitive analysis, A/B testing, and usability revisions.
